Experience the seaside of Rogoznica

Mulo lighthouse is a typical 19th century lighthouse located southwest of Rogoznica. Built in 1873, during the Austro-Hungarian administration, it has a sole purpose of lighting up the waterways. Made of precisely carved stone blocks, which were stacked in a octagonal structure, the lighthouse was a safe point for many shipwreck survivors. Today, the Mulo lighthouse is automated, but still stands as a memorial for the past.

Smokvica Vela is an island, located in the Rogoznica archipelago. It’s known for beautiful nature and ecosystem which leaves a mesmerizing impression in every visit. The island serves as an memorial, as it has bunkers that date back to the World War II. Today, Smokvica Vela is a private estate, although it still holds the title of one of the most beautiful adriatic islands.

Punta Planka (also known as rt Ploča) divides the northern and southern part of the Adriatic. It is known as Diomedes cape, named after one of the greatest greek heroes, who barely swam on land and survived one of the many catastrophic and dangerous storms. This side of Rogoznica is full of remains of old ships, so for divers it’s like looking straight back into history. In memory of Saint Ivan Trogirski, a church was built in 1324 and still stands today. As the most protruding part od Dalmatia, it’s the best spot for astronomy lovers to watch the nightime sky and explore constellations.
